Well, it’s finally happened.
Owlet can see us driving.
We made it till age four, which is when the child’s spine develops enough that internal decapitation during whiplash is no longer as likely. (Sorry for the scary image, but it’s true.) Read more about why here: Rear facing car seat myths busted. We researched car seats with this in mind and hers, a Diano Radian, was accommodating of the average four-year-old’s height and weight.
Here she is, happily rear-facing for the last time, fortunately not at all bothered by her legs being tucked up (although somewhat bothered by picture-taking; hence the face-obscuring hat):
